Rules for All Outdoor Adverts
When you put up an outdoor advert in England, there are five key conditions you absolutely must follow. This applies even if you don't need any special planning approval for your display:
You are responsible for keeping your advertisement clean and well-presented at all times.
Ensure your advert is always safe, secure, and poses no risk to anyone.
Before installing any advert, you must secure permission from the landowner. If the advert is going on highway land, you'll specifically need approval from the Highway Authority.
Your advert must never block or interfere with official signs for roads, railways, waterways, or aircraft. It’s vital that your display doesn't create any hazard for those using these transport methods.
If the planning authority instructs you to remove your advert, you are required to take it down carefully.
